Petco is a famous retailer of pet food. Its story began in 1965 when Walter Evans opened its first veterinary store in La Mesa, California.
Their aim was to buy high-grade pet products and sell them at reduced prices. The people started to buy from them, having these discounts prices. Little by little they introduced new products from Iams, nitro, Purina, and many others. When the sales began to grow, they asked for more supplies. During their expansion the started to introduce not only pet products, but also fish aquarium systems, reptiles, birds, ponds, small animals products, which usually you don’t find in pet stores.
In 1990s there were still expanding, increasing the numbers of stores. The had a full-line of products, such as orthopedic dog beds, peanut butter-flavored dog, crab-and-tuna-flavored cat treats, bird beak conditioners, grooming products, toys, and many other items. Petco also made big efforts to please the customer and satisfy him with their products.
